The site specifically examined in this study consists of approximately 120 acres in Santa Ana Canyon located on the historic Mindeman Ranch property. Several canyons and meadows on the property have wooded areas that would be suitable for events; these areas total approximately 50 acres and would accommodate five separate locations including the Brown’s Palace Social and Saddle Club, western town, Indian encampment, Mexican village and wedding chapel. The balance of the property is suitable for hiking and horse trails through native sagebrush-type vegetation. The property is zoned for agricultural use; this type of zoning requires that the natural grading and vegetation be maintained. The staRRanch site will allow a number of events and programs to be held simultaneously and will preserve the individual experience for each group enjoying the ranch.

Bordering the property to the west is the Coal Canyon Wilderness park and the Cleveland National Forest which will ensure that the experience at staRRanch will be free of encroachment and the surrounding land will be preserved with as much care as staRRanch.
Recreational-type developments that take advantage of the Cleveland National Forest and the area’s historical nature will be embraced by the community.
