Canyon is a fantastic school as it offers a large number of IB and AP courses. My daughter has been in the honors program since 4th grade, and Canyon has done a great job in helping her maintain the level of education required to maintain a 4.9 GPA. A very high percentage of Canyon students are in the honors program, that Canyon has a separate 3-hour night for recognizing and awarding all honors students with 4.0 GPA or above. Canyon made it possible for my daugther to get accepted to the best schools like Standford, USC, UCLA, etc.

A true gem! This is the only Anaheim Hills high school, and is the crown jewel of this fine community. Great IB/AP program, respectful and involved student body, committed teachers. It is an all around winner and the educational experience at this school is comparable to private schools. It is truly an amazing place to learn. All parents should send their kids here with pride!

Terrific school! I pulled my kids out of Edison in Huntington Beach after threats to my kid, and I have been nothing but happy with my experiences with the school. The staff really motivates the students to be the best they can. And although the students are extremely wealthy, they arent showy and are well mannered. Everything about this school gets an A+!

This school is fantastic for technology. It not only has morning announcements that are produced by state of the art technicians, it features a game programming class that offers real challenges to students. It also offers an IB son course, which my son is enrolled in.

This school is spectacular! Their IB/AP program is terrific, location is upscale, nice campus, great tech-school, wonderful scores! This school has it all and is by far better than any school I have seen in most parts of the county.

My daughter is currently enrolled at Canyon High, going into her junior year. I can say without a doubt that this is an excellent school with an outstanding staff and caring teachers. Not only is this a California Distinguished School, but it's in the top 10% of all high schools in the state! You can't get any better than that, folks! My daughter absolutely loves it at Canyon, and is involved in sports as well as Red Cross and Key Club. If you are thinking about having your son(s)/daughter(s) attend Canyon, I highly recommend you do it!

I have four children who have or are currently enrolled at Canyon. I have two RSP children and 1 Honors child with one in the middle. The two ends of the spectrum have been taken care of pretty well but the 'average' student is lost in mediocrity. The teachers, unless brand new to teaching or just a real teacher like Ms. Ritter, are totally unconcerned with their students or their progress. Their teaching method or lack thereof is disappointing. School spirit is nonexistent. The cheerleaders show up for events and are so busy talking on their cell phone they have no time to cheer. Hope springs eternal with the introduction of a new principal-Mr. Bowden. On a final note, how permanent can a portable classroom really be and how safe after 15-20 years. They creak, moan and smell.

All four of my children have attended Canyon, the last one in the class of 2009. I am disgusted with the school and their lack of interest in their students, the uncaring attitude of vital teachers, and unhelpful administrative staff. I would not reccommend this school for someone who's child is not extremely gifted or extremely challenged. The students 'in the middle' are left out and ignored scholastically. They have fantastic AP/IB programs and fantastic RSP programs, but other than that, they are sorely lacking in most ways.

Academically, Canyon is a pretty good school. Test scores are high and and teachers are over all pretty good. There are numerous activities that are available that can help get students involved. Although extremely overlooked, the theatre arts department is a good place to meet people and get involved in acting or technical work. With the outstanding band, Canyon High School is a good place to be involved musically. School spirit, however, is extremely low. Time is wasted concentrating on test scores instead of things like the students contentment. There is no real concern for students well being. Canyon is good is some ways but is also seriously lacking.

Good school. I enjoy going to canyon. Im 14 and a freshman I graduate 2009 and there are good teachers a good atmasphere and over its a good school. For the real deal the school is a lot better then others with things parents really worry about like drugs and things like that and theres rteally none on campuse at all! So basicly I like canyon

This is a great school in a quiet neighborhood. Classes are not very hard and the school is known for its overinflation of students' GPA. As a result, elite colleges are known for passing on Canyon students with high (4.8-5.0) and taking students with significantly lower statistics coming out of a school with a larger name. School pride is devastatingly low, partly caused by the lack of success by sports teams and by heavy, unncecesary restrictions by principal Duncan and her staff on student activities. Little effort is placed in their part to ensure student happiness and willingness of being in school and it is instead concentrated on the top 5% of the school succeding academically. Success in the IB program is high, indicating the high achievement level by students, yet college destinations do not match test scores from other schools.

My son came to Canyon not knowing a sole in his Freshman year. He was previously in band and loved basketball. I signed him up for both activities and he was immediately embraced with care and concern. Basketball was an eye opener for him due to all the competition, but that's sports in high school... Mom doesn't pay for you to play anymore. Band, on the other hand, has been such a positive, wonderful experience for my son. Mr. Whitten and Mr. Z show such a passion for their students who are responsible and disciplined young adults. My son has made many friends and they all help each other out in times of need. My first impression with the admin office staff was also positive. Honors program is awesome. As a parent, it is our responsibility to embrace communication with our child and their teachers. CHS rocks!

I pulled my daughter out of Canyon HS as soon as the first semester ended. Canyon did not have available any guidance whatsoever for my scholastically non-challenged daughter, leaving her remaining years of high school unorganized and in a havoc. I instead enrolled her into a high school close to it, Esperanza(who had the greatest caring counselors), and she has been doing great(a little lonely, but nonetheless happy).

A mix of teachers, both devoted and less committed, but on the whole commendable and many have been there for many years. Responsible and attentive leadership, a larger than expected variety of extracurricular activities for the students, a sufficiently clean campus of uninspiring architecture, good security, and a palpable feeling of youthful school spirit.

Good teachers? Mrs. Ritter (math, Physical Education makes everything clear, mathematically speaking) Mr. Leal (Photography- Wonderful teacher, loves what he does and is dedicated to it.) , Mrs. Jackson (Dance Most passionate p.e. teacher I ever met) Mr. Owens (History/Government a little scatter brained, very knowledgable, inspired my descion on a major, Mr. Weinkauf, or Mr Wino, as he is affectionatly called (Media Resources) the Economics teacher, a man who's name I do not rememeber but was dedicated to understanding us as a generation and conveying what we needed to know out there in the real world. I can'tleave out the Freshman Health teacher Mr. Hughes, loves his job and what he does more than anything, sense of humor about bodily functions that MADE us listen and LEARN. There ARE definetly bad teachers there who I would rather not remember, but every school and every student can probably relate.

Teacher's education is shameful. Unexperienced and bitter staff. Uncooperating in every way. The student body is very untamed and intimidating for students. My son has had many threats, including his friends. Smart students are constantly picked on and shunned from. Discipline is very poor. Please take my advice and do not transfer here; you're child will not go far from Canyon.

Canyon may not have a new campus, however, the academics available for the students who want to excel are excellent. I have a son who graduated from the A.P/I.B. program and entered UCSD well ahead of other college freshmen. I have another son who still attends Canyon and is also excelling. A large part of education is what happens at home!

My son was shocked after moving here to Anaheim to this school. The campus is dirty, and is in my opinion an unsafe place for children to be considering the lack of security. The administrators, teachers, and staff were generally rude to me after one month of attending this school I decided to take my son out of this school and send him to Santa Margarita Catholic High School. It is obvious how inferior Canyon is to other schools.
