I'm a senior at Katella and personally I dislike it. We have a poor educational program and even worse sports! I wanted to transfer to Sunny Hills for my final year this year :(

Its funny hearing what some parents hear and say about this school. No hard hats were worn by students to get to class, and there are always AP classes offered, you just have to be smart enough to get in them. My only concern is safety and campus security, which seems minimal. Academics aren't that bad, but could be better. Room for improvement, but better than some schools.

I have had a student at Katella for 6 years now (2 kids). The teachers are quick to respond to an e-mail to ask about grades or behavior. I have been really happy with the school. It is true that there has been a lot of construction, but it takes a lot of time to make so many changes to such a large school. My children have been happy there too.

Katella High School has been under construction for over 3 years! There aren't even any lockers! Student are forced to carry at least 3-4 heavy books and more than one binder every day, and last year the students had to wear hard hats just to get to class! I have a child that who is very intelligent and she can't enhance her knowledge because AP classes are non-existent! Their sports program is extremely poor and students aren't focused on academics! Do not send your child to this school! Im un-enrolling my daughter due to these unacceptable conditions!!

Katella does have very good honors and ap programs the problem is they are not supported enough by the student body. Recently an AP english lit class was cancelled do to too low of numbers. The ap kids do suffer somewhat because the are a minority. The same kids are involved in asb, sports, clubs etc and the percentage of those involved are small.

I personally think that Katella High School is an good school there are good programs for kids to try out for and I enjoy the sports that most kids participate in.

Because of Katella my horizons are broad. You obtain a bond with the athletic, club and student-teacher communities aid me when I feel pressured with AP work load, and social problems at home. It is a sense of frienship, and innovation on obtains from the student goverment and subjects. Yet the current construction is a hassle going from class to class, but in the end I am proud to be a Knight!

This school has pretty good academics. They had a great drama and music program in the past, but since the lost their Mr. holland aka: Mr. Weiss the school's music program is now pretty lame. Their sports program is ok, but their is room for improvement. Parent involvement at this school is basically nil.

Being a student at Katella gives me more power to judge than anyone else and I am a honor student that is very athletic. It is a great school and I don't believe how bad people think it is. All I have to say is Knight Pride!

I'm actually a student, but I believe that being a student gives me better claim to judge the school. The school is doing a fine job as it's going. Some teachers are better than others but that's just opinion.
