This is a good school that serves a very large number of children. There is too little parent involvement and the PTA does a great job, especially since they have very few parents helping out. Teachers work very hard to make sure students learn well and many teachers come in early and leave late. There are after-school academies to help students in English and math.

terrible staff. Too many students per teacher. The casa program allows students to leave early without parental permission

My daughter is in 4th grade and she has been doing great at this school. They have a wonderful afterschool program. Most of her teachers have been very good, and I love the new uniform policy, it is so easy in the mornings when it comes to dressing up, we do not go through any kind of arguments any more, and she is much better at school, knowing that no one is going to criticize what she is wearing. Children can be very rude and the uniform policy helps very much.

I have two kids that are attending to this school and am very satisfy with everything great teachers. This school has improved a lot. What I don t like it s the uniform dress code. I believe that the schools that have uniformed dress code are the bad schools so Rio vista doing that it doesn t look good at all.

Overall, I'm not real satisfied with the whole school program and encouragement from the school as a whole. Ie. Awards, recognition for various achievments.

This school has poor state ratings, and we were not impressed with the teacher's ability to challenge the students. Expectations are not high and communication w/ parents was poor (from administrators & teachers). Our son interacted well with the other students but we felt he was being held back because he was a more advanced student than most and the teachers were not motivated to challenge him.

This school needs help. I would not recommend this school for any child. I would request that they bus your child to another of their schools.

School is below average. Teachers seem unmotivated. School does not challenge the children enough.

Rio Vista is overcrouded. The ratio of students to teachers is high. There is also minimal supervision on the play ground. Materials are short and the children are the ones who suffer.
