This school is great and has one of the best athletic program in the area. The kind of kids the school gets it does the best. I love it.

The administration, faculty and staff of WHS are exceptional. As a member of the very active and involve WHS Alumni Association, I get a chance to interact with students from over fifty years of classes at WHS. There were some very lean periods at the school during the 80's and mid 90's, but on a whole, the school has a history of providing a quality educational and social experience for any children who put the effort into their own role as a student. The school embraces the diversity of its students, as well as its rich heritage. International Week and the Memorial Day recognition of former students who have sacrificed their lives in service of our country are just examples of the Pioneer Spirit which the administration promotes and encourages from all the students. Parents also get out of the school what they put into it. Get involved instead of complaining.

My son is a freshman this year at Western. He had gone to Christian school his whole life. We have not encountered any of the problems we anticipating in a public school. His teachers and sports coaches have been wonderful. He's made a lot of new friends from all walks of life. We did encounter one problem on his schedule when his sport changed, but it was quickly resolved with a couple phone calls to his counselor. I have not met the new principal but I have seen him frequently watching the different sporting events. So my overall experience of Western High School has been a very positive one.

This is a horrible school. Try to send your child some where else if you can. The vice principal does nothing.

Western high school has a loving, helping, and encouraging staff. I think this is very important considering teens talk to teachers more often about their personal lives then they would parents. There are many extra curricular activities and sports, music and art opportunities.

I went to WHS from 2001-2005. I loved the school very much. I learned so much, the academic programs are wonderful and there many chances for students to get involved in chior, art, and athletics. The athtetics programs continues to improve each year. I myself played four sports and learned so much by that. I was one of the top in my class due to the great amount of respect the teachers have for their students. And also the fact that the teachers don't just want to teach they want to make the students learn. Western helped me to become who I am today. I loved the school so much I am now a part of the faculty.

Western has come a long way, moving from an IIUSP school to a California Distinguished School in about three years. Western's student body is extremely diverse which is demonstrated by the school's annual International Week. One possible drawback could be the lack of parental involvement in many school events.

Some of the teachers do their job well and maintain a good rapport with the students, but the administrators and counselors will treat the students and parents like they are the enemy. It seems that the teachers oppose the poor administration, but fear punitive action if they were to speak out. Overall, my experiences with the school have been negative.

I believe that Western High School has collection of some of the best office staff, teachers, mentors, and students. The teachers and staff are fully evolved in any and all of the students activities, weather it concerns school, home, sports etc. There is an open door policy with all teachers and staff for our students. I have a son in Western, and he has just as much care and parenting within Western as he has at home. That stems from the principal, to his head coach. I will have another son attending next year, and even though he is not a student yet, the staff, teachers, and coaches take time to keep him busy during summer vacations. I enjoy having my boys in Anaheim School District. If the caring from the staff and teachers continue, Western will remain one of the best schools within the Anaheim School District.

This is a terrible school. Even after attempts by the school to have more communication with parents they still do a poor job. There are soome good teachers but, the bad ones terribly out weigh the good. I went in to some of my daughter's classes and it seemed that some of the teachers do not care about their students. It almsot seems as if they hate their job.

Principal leadership is horrible due to the fact that there are so many restriction from everything that my child doesn't have the same opportunities as other schools in their district. The teachers are excellent, they help my child when she needed help with her homework, projects, or sometimes personal matters. The extracuricular activities are pretty good, but unfortunately some programs are not as good as the others due to the funding issues.

The quality of the administration at Western High School has continued to decline. The principal leads a pack of counselors who do not make themselves available to the students unless in emergencies or by appointment. It has been a disappointing year for my daughter and two of her friends. They are great students but the hassle with dealing with their counselors in preparation for college has been ridiculous. The current principal seems 'lost' most of the time and unaware of what goes on on his own campus.

Some of the teachers are excellent, but it is hard to get your child into the classes with the best teachers.
