Beechwood Elementary School, K-8 (Public)

This is one public school like no others. Parents involvements are incredible. Everyone work as a team. PTSA is fantastic in their job. You could just see and feel everyone is working solely for the benefit of the school and the student. Mr. Miramonte is a fantastic principle. All his students love him. We are very proud of this school and proud of our children able to learn from such great environment.

We joined beechwood this year. My daugher is in 3rd grade. She is very excited to go to school everyday. She has a lot of good things to tell us about her teacher Mr. Sullivan. She is very happy and so we are.

Great school. Graduated from 8th grade in 2008 and I was well prepared for High School. Science Olympiad and Band programs are phenomenal, set me up for success. Principle rocks. Teacher quality is average overall; a few pretty terrible but overall top-notch. Great test scores, great family environment, balanced goals. Overall very happy I got to go there.

My daughter attends Kindergarten at Beechwood and we couldn't be happier. There's a lot of opportunities to volunteer and tons of parent involvement. The principal stretches the teachers to use a variety of teaching methods. My child is very happy!

This school is filled with wonderful teachers and the awards we are Blue Ribbon School and a CA Distingush school

My son just completed kidnergarten at Beechwood. What a great school. I am thrilled its a K-8 because I can't think of a better place for my children to learn and grow over time. Teachers are first rate, parent involvement is very high and the atmosphere is family-like in every way. Very focused on achievment and development but in a way that does not create a undue stress or competition on the students. New Principal taking over next year...he has big shoes to fill because the current principal is incredible. Only one thing I would like to see improve: the overall facility (exterior) is bland, could use some art, etc to liven things up.

We love Beechwood! It is a fabulous environment to be in - the teachers are phenonomenal. Although we will miss our principal dearly, we are looking forward to the enthusiasm that the new principal will bring to the school. Hopefully some changes will be brought about that make it easier for working parents to become more involved in the school.

Excellent elementary school. New Middle School program--still finding itself. New Principal starting Fall 2007. Good academics. Middle School needs more extra curricular programs for art and sports. Excellent Parent involvement. Motivated Teachers

Beechwood earned California Distinguished School honors in 2006 just 7 years after opening its doors. Teachers, administrators, staff and parent volunteers nurture our kids from kindergarten through 8th grade cheering their progress and thinking of each student as their own. Community spirit is tops here. Our test scores are a very close second in the district but our nurturing environment is second to none. Writing is a strong focus at Beechwood and our IB Middle Years Programme is producing strong leaders for our high schools. Don't look elsewhere. This is a school that develops your whole child. We wouldn't go anywhere else.

Nice old fashioned environment. Good quality of programs, not enough music or special programs. Lots of parent involvement

My kids were attending Beechwood for only a year and then we moved to NoCal. During that time, they made significant progress, mostly due to the caring teachers and their commitment to make children succeed. The curriculum is challenging, but no child get left behind. Offered are music and drama classes, even for 1st grade. There is a high level of parent involvement; plenty of classroom volunteers and PTA involvement. I can highly recommend this school.

I am a parent and my child has been going to this school since 2nd grade and has a great experience. It is a small school with great teachers and a principal who knows students by name. This school offers good after school prgrams including math olympiad, science classes, choir, spanish and after school child care on site. They also have family nights a few times a year. This is usually a night centered around science experiments or the book fair...always lots of fun. It is a safe school where parent participation is encouraged.
