Brookhaven Elementary School, K-6 (Public)

Brookhaven is a challenging environment where the bar is set very high. At times, I've wished for a more nurturing environment with less emphasis on homework and worksheets. This school takes test scores very seriously. I must admit that my son has spent three years here and he is excelling academically and after all, that is why we send our children to school. The teachers here care about the students very much. Many of the programs and activities, such as the Kindergaten Fairy Tale Ball, Third Grade Grow a Garden, Dr. Seuss Days and Second Grade Sock Hop make for wonderful childhood memories. There are two areas where I would like to see improvements: critical thinking skills and playground supervision. All in all, I'd recommend the school.

I have been completely impressed by the quality of staff and teachers at Brookhaven. When on school grounds, it is obvious that the teachers and other staff are dedicated to creating a positive, enthusiastic learning environment. The teachers are stellar and provide a challenging and appropriate curriculum for their students. I have been more than satisfied with ALL aspects of Brookhaven.

Brookhaven is a school with great parental support and well behaved students. I have been a part of Brookhaven community for five years and have been impressed with the teaching staff, support staff and the leadership. The office staff is warm and welcoming and first impression is made there.

Overall 'community feeling'; very welcoming campus. Principal and staff quality is outstanding. The parent support is unparalleled. Learning takes place in every aspect of the school day. Definitely a school worth sending your child to!

B rookhaven offers safe and stimulating learning experience for children. I joined this school last year and did not hesitate to go back. Great principle and teachers, active PTA, wonderful neighborhood and various school events just overwhelmed me. I am glad to be one of Brookhaven bears.

Brookhaven is an amazing school and has a high standard for academic achievement. The Principal is fabulous and is there to support you with any cares or concerns. The teachers are caring and knowledgeable, always willing to help, even after hours. The school offers a music program, as well as masters of the art program. Parent involvement is wonderful. I would highly recommend Brookhaven Elementary to any parent looking for a good solid academic foundation as well as a place where the teachers and Principal truly care.

Brookhaven has been a terrific school for my 2 children. The teachers have been attentive, caring, hardworking and very involved in their day to day progressl. All my questions are answered promptly and approprietly. All my concerns about their behavior are immediately identified and a parent/teacher partnership was made to show a team effort for everyone's benefit. My children immediately responded and felt we were all together working for the best of the student. The parents are incredible support to overall success of this school. We love it.

This school is great! The teachers are great to work with and work well with the students. One of the major benefits that I have seen over the years is the parent participation. The parents seem very dedicated.

Fifth grade has been a memorable year. The challenging curriculum has been met with enthusiasm by the teachers. Although, the class size is too large (38-39 per teacher). I look forward to one more year here at Brookhaven.

My son has been at this school for five years, he is in 5th grade. The school is excellent. Second grade teachers are in my opinion the best as well as kindergarten. It has a strong PTA which helps with money earned for the school. The staff is very good and caring. This year we have a new principal, he seems to be very concerned and impressed with the staff. I don't feel that the two 5th grade teachers are very strong, but every other year have been great!
