VHS is definitely a diamond in the rough, and I could not be happier that my children are lucky enough to attend such a gem of a school. My children are not in the VHS district and knew practically NOBODY when they began their high school experience. The staff from the teachers to the aides and everyone in between is beyond excellent. In my opinion, every student is embraced (from the at risk student to the high achiever) and given the tools necessary for success. Students need to do their part, but teachers and counselors will light the path for them and they genuinely and sincerely wish success for each student. Unlike most large schools in our district, the staff makes honest attempts to form connections and relationships with their students. I can not rave enough about this school. Go Tigers!

I am a freshman and came to this school unlike anybody else from my middle school. I am a very outgoing person, but when i came to Valencia I didn't fit in. I was told that i would make friends anywhere i was, but in this case, I wasn't pleased. Great IB and AP courses, but overall I wasn't happy.

Valencia high school is a phenomenal school. As a student in the IB program I feel that Valencia offers top-notch education options as well as a variety of sports, clubs, extra-curricular activities, etc. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the personal connection administrators have with students in helping us prepare for college.

Valencia has an excellent reputation. They offer students a wide variety of programs geared towards academics, sports, and music. Students are given the opportunity to expand their education, while preparing for the next step into college.

My son graduated from this school in 2004. I believe that VHS offers high quality programs and teachers, what prevents this school from being superb is some of the students. The kids that are there to learn and want to succeed will do well at VHS. It's real obvious which students have parents that are involved in their lives and education -- they are the success stories. If more parents would take responsibility for their role in raising respectful, productive citizens, this school would be academically recognized every year.

I have been a teacher at Valencia High School for twenty years. My wife and I lived two blocks from the school for almost six years. From talking with neighborhood parents, students, and colleagues, it will be obvious to any interested parent that Valencia H.S. has truly earned its school motto of 'Pride, Tradition, and Excellence.' In the 70 years of its history, Valencia's community involvement, caring staff, and high standards of academic achievement have marked it as an exemplary high school. These qualities were responsible, in part, for V.H.S. being named a 'California Distinguished School.' Less than ten percent of California schools have earned this distinction. When compared with other high schools of similar socio-economic backgrounds, Valenica consistently has scored a '9 or 10' on a scale of ten. The fact that our faculty averages 17 years of teaching at our high school says all you need to know.

Valencia is a great high school for kids of all cultural backgrounds. Being here is like being in the real world, it gives us a taste of what we are about to get into as soon as we leave school. Valencia is a very lucky school which takes pride in the tradition and excellence that the students have. This high school is more of a big family there than just a place to learn. My aunts and uncles enjoyed their 4 years there and so did i and i know that my cousins will love their 4 years. I highly recomend to become a member of this family.... Way to go, Tigers!

I can't say enough good things about Valencia High School. The entire adminstrative staff from the Principal, to the asst. principals to the counselors to the office is great. The counselors really listen to the students needs and interests and goes the extra mile to accomodate those needs and interests. The teachers are also wonderful and take an active interest in their students. they are always available if you need to talk with them about your student. The extra carricular programs are great. Valencia has programs for just about every interest. If you student interst is in sports, performing arts, visual arts, foreign languages or political, Valencia has something for them. In short: This is a great high school.
