I was blessed to be a part of their HOSTS program, where I would go in weekly and mentor students. The principal, Judy Magsaysay, the program facilitators and all the teachers I met, were amazing, caring, inspiring people, The care they had for the children was exceptional. They worked ceaselessly to inspire them to be advocates for peace (vs gangs) and ways to improve themselves (and improve their self-respect) at every turn. Their participation in the HOSTS program was just one of the many ways they achieved this.
